New Year Routine!

Welp, it's the New Year!  Again, so fast!  So, I see that people are now saying that they don't make resolutions because resolutions don't last.  So....they make promises....ok then...here's my promise  resolution.....

I'm vowing to exercise and hopefully lose weight

I'm vowing to wake up earlier

I'm vowing to become more positive

I'm vowing to become more spiritual

I'm vowing to drink more water.

So what have I done to make these things happen?

I have established a morning routine that helps incorporate some of the changes I want to make.  I wake up at 6....I need to work on waking up at 5:30 now, but 6am is good, trust me!

When I wake up, I actually get down on my knees and pray.  I read a scripture (need to make sure I keep this up b/c I have been slacking on reading the scriptures).  After that, I stretch, then go into the following exercises (the total is throughout the day):  50 women pushups per day, arm raises 100/per day, situps 50/per day, and squats 100/per day.  I am up to 100 squats per day b/c I do them at work as well as throughout the day, all except the situps. If I stay in for lunch, I get the women pushups in as well.  I can't quite go all the way down and come back up thus the women's pushups to strengthen my arms so that I can do regular pushups.

I read The Secret, and the other books in the series (just Google them or find them on Youtube) and it has helped my thought process so much better in the terms of thinking positive and yes, I do believe in the Law of Attraction.  I believe in God as well. I have also been listening to again and more often, motivational speakers such as Tony Robbins, Wayne Dyer, Joel Osteen, Les Brown and others.  If you ever plan on checking them out, just listen to them and you will get the one who holds your attention.  I listen to at least one of them everyday.  It really motivates me, but more so, gets my mindset in the right place.  Really good words!  I'm putting them into action!

I have purchased a large drinking cup for work and yes it is pretty and a large mini water jug (looks just like a water jug) for home.  This helped with me giving the Coca-Cola up.  I loved Cokes, but I knew they were really bad for me.  I did buy some Crystal Light packets, but I don't drink them much either.  Other drinks I have been drinking but not often:  Cranberry Juice and Green Tea.  I guess I will get a flavored drink whenever I eat out, but I'm not eating out often these days, so it will be a treat!

Well the exercising has been paying off to me.  I feel better (seriously), I walk better.  Certain things I do I can tell, however, I got knocked down a notch today.  I went to the doctor for my yearly visit and I'm still border line diabetic and am 208 (was 212 last week so I dropped some recently).  Vitamin D was really low as well.

So...I have to go back in six months so that he can access whether or not to put me on medication for Diabetes if I haven't changed for the better.  I AM changing for the better and it will be a very good visit!  I can't wait for it!  I'll update you about the follow-up in August!

Note:  Daily exercising routine began Monday, 1/13/14.

So I will definitely do a weekly weigh in and maybe blog in between about anything I find interesting!

Stay positive!
