New Year Routine!

Welp, it's the New Year!  Again, so fast!  So, I see that people are now saying that they don't make resolutions because resolutions don't last.  So....they make promises....ok then...here's my promise  resolution.....

I'm vowing to exercise and hopefully lose weight

I'm vowing to wake up earlier

I'm vowing to become more positive

I'm vowing to become more spiritual

I'm vowing to drink more water.

So what have I done to make these things happen?

I have established a morning routine that helps incorporate some of the changes I want to make.  I wake up at 6....I need to work on waking up at 5:30 now, but 6am is good, trust me!

When I wake up, I actually get down on my knees and pray.  I read a scripture (need to make sure I keep this up b/c I have been slacking on reading the scriptures).  After that, I stretch, then go into the following exercises (the total is throughout the day):  50 women pushups per day, arm raises 100/per day, situps 50/per day, and squats 100/per day.  I am up to 100 squats per day b/c I do them at work as well as throughout the day, all except the situps. If I stay in for lunch, I get the women pushups in as well.  I can't quite go all the way down and come back up thus the women's pushups to strengthen my arms so that I can do regular pushups.

I read The Secret, and the other books in the series (just Google them or find them on Youtube) and it has helped my thought process so much better in the terms of thinking positive and yes, I do believe in the Law of Attraction.  I believe in God as well. I have also been listening to again and more often, motivational speakers such as Tony Robbins, Wayne Dyer, Joel Osteen, Les Brown and others.  If you ever plan on checking them out, just listen to them and you will get the one who holds your attention.  I listen to at least one of them everyday.  It really motivates me, but more so, gets my mindset in the right place.  Really good words!  I'm putting them into action!

I have purchased a large drinking cup for work and yes it is pretty and a large mini water jug (looks just like a water jug) for home.  This helped with me giving the Coca-Cola up.  I loved Cokes, but I knew they were really bad for me.  I did buy some Crystal Light packets, but I don't drink them much either.  Other drinks I have been drinking but not often:  Cranberry Juice and Green Tea.  I guess I will get a flavored drink whenever I eat out, but I'm not eating out often these days, so it will be a treat!

Well the exercising has been paying off to me.  I feel better (seriously), I walk better.  Certain things I do I can tell, however, I got knocked down a notch today.  I went to the doctor for my yearly visit and I'm still border line diabetic and am 208 (was 212 last week so I dropped some recently).  Vitamin D was really low as well.

So...I have to go back in six months so that he can access whether or not to put me on medication for Diabetes if I haven't changed for the better.  I AM changing for the better and it will be a very good visit!  I can't wait for it!  I'll update you about the follow-up in August!

Note:  Daily exercising routine began Monday, 1/13/14.

So I will definitely do a weekly weigh in and maybe blog in between about anything I find interesting!

Stay positive!

Woop Woop! Tuesday!

Ok, in my seat at 8:02am!   So......back in the progress seat!  Nothing special just speaking affirmations to myself if you want to call them that:

Being late means you don't care.

Being late means you are not considerate of other's time.

Being late means you are rebellious and don't respect the rules.

That's not me, so if that's the message I'm sending although subtle...I don't want to convey that.  I'll get her 15 mins. before.  I may not be first, but I won't be last (wink)!

Smile!

It's going to be a good day!

It's going to be a good day!

(Repeat)

Um, backtracking here! Happy Monday!!!!

Who leaves the house at 8am for work?  SMH....I must admit, last night, I did get my clothes out and everything I had to take with me.  There were extra things to do today that I don't have to do every morning.  I should have gotten up earlier.  Not a bad morning though....pretty motivating things going on today so that's good!

So as we began our week and progress.....here's to positive life changing events!

Wealth, good health, and early retirement would be nice for starters!

Now Goals: Wake up at 6am Every Morning! Ok 8am on Weekends (Post #3)

Ok, I woke up at 715 near my usual...not good!  Not good at all!  So what am I to do???  The only good thing about it is....I made it to work at time!  Crazy, I know!  8:03am today!  Well,  I would have liked to run by the grocery store for some lunch and also walk the stairs for my health.  I also didn't get my clothes out like I said I would.

However, I'm not giving up!  I'm going to do it...the Law of Attraction right?!?!  So, I am still shooting for my goal of waking up at 6am on weekdays and 8am on weekends....oooo that will be crazy on a Saturday morning, but we will see.

So, get out clothes tonight, prep hair, fix my lunch.

I was late to work today by 3 minutes....remember....early is on time, on time is late, and late is unacceptable!  :-)

We will continue to challenge ourselves and meet and exceed our goal!

Jimmy Fallon, Mariah Carey & The Roots: "All I Want For Christmas Is You...

Just some Christmas fun!  Enjoy! :-)

Now Goals: Wake up at 6am Every Morning! Ok 8am on Weekends (Post #2)

Ok so....what happened this morning was :-)......

I kept looking at the clock every hour it seemed from about lam to 7am - not good!

I did get up at 7am instead of 7:30am so that was an improvement - good!

The only thing was, I did leave the house the same time as usual at & 7:45am - not good!

I need to leave at 7:30am in time to the office.

Time of arrival at office...in my seat...8:08am - not good!

You are counted late after 8:07, but really after 8am you are late.

So, the tweeks we will make:
  • Get out clothes and accessories to wear the night before and have them ready to put on (iron them).

  • Make lunch the night before and have it ready (saves so much money and time)!
The music helps as well.  I have a couple of new Christmas CD's:  Tamar Braxton and Mary J. Blige and I love them both sooo much!!!

Tamar Braxton brings the fresh feel with the ill beats and Mary J. has the classic feel, but fabulous nevertheless.  I give them both a 10.  Tamar is "sanging" and although Mary J. always "sangs", she has a softer voice on some of the songs that's new to me and I love it!

Happy early mornings!  Someone suggested that I should blog as soon as I wake up....um I don't know about that LOL.

Oh the news I heard today:  The Pope is named as the Times Person of the Year....I wholeheartedly agree.  Barbara Walters wanted Ed Snowden to be the Person of the Year....really....I mean really?

Side note....I really miss my Comcast Cable.  I got Century Link b/c it was cheaper, but I'm thinking I made a bad decision....the only perk I see is that I now can record and watch shows in any room....bah-hum-bug...nothing beats Comcast/Xfinity's On Demand!  Darn I miss it!

Until next time....."Early is on time, on time is late, and late is unacceptable!"

Peace!

Now Goals: Wake up at 6am Every Morning! Ok 8am on Weekends

Ha, Ha!  Yes, I am going to do this....for the rest of my life.  Perhaps I will get up at 8am on the weekends.  Nevertheless, this will get me to work and on church on Sundays on time.  So...how do we reach this goal?  I say start small?  I don't know...I will try cold turkey to wake up at 6am on the weekdays and 8am on the weekends.  Earliest (people who get up extra early everyday) will laugh at my post for sure as they prepare to wake up their roosters.  That's ok!  This is my plan and here it goes.....

Any pointers, any experiences....share!

Yelling to myself:  STOP BEING LAZY!

What this will do:  Get me to work and church on time.  Relieve stress due to procrastination.

I just can't believe I have this problem!  My parents are the ones who wake up roosters, so why not me?  Ugh, I gotta change this.

The motto...Being early is being on time, being on time is being late and being late is unacceptable.

I will keep tally and go from there!

The worst is everyone will be shocked and look weird and may even ask...why are you on time?  Weirdos...POOF-BE GONE!

If you have a response I could give to those people, that would be cool as well.  I'm sure they would be interesting!
